Live Mail vs Hotmail

I recently changed back from Windows Live Mail to the traditional hotmail. Why? Slow load times, inconsistent behaviors with check boxes, small reading panes that you can resize, not being able to export contacts, shall I go on. Sure it is a beta version and sure it is free. However, why should I upgrade from a stable hotmail to a clunky, nonuser-friendly email client.

Long live hotmail!

I would love to, but it is a pain getting everyone to know my new email address. I will have to do it some day, I suppose.

Use fastmail paid version to pull your mail from hotmail , remove the spam, and forward to gmail
If need be, you can send mail from gmail with your hotmail address in the from section

Hi, having tried and been dissapointed with Live mail I reverted back to hotmail, however I find I get routed through “loginLive” now before being able to access my Hotmail. This of course all takes time and often I get ‘timed out” before it actually connects, am I alone in this ?

I have been playing around with Gmail and I have found it to be confusing and slow. Not as slow as Windows Live Mail mind you. Also, Gmail does not have as much unnecessary ajax as Live Mail. Live Mail is ridiculous, it tried to act like a desktop application, but leaves out many necessary features creating a painfully slow website, even on a broadband connection. Gmail has some nice features, but I still don’t think it is worth the hassle of moving all my contacts over from Hotmail.

@Cheng : If you click on the options button, then there is an option to ‘Switch to MSN Hotmail’. I hope this helps.

@Paul this does not happen to me. I complete discontinued my use of Live Mail rather than just switching over on a session per session basis. Maybe you should try opting out all together. See my explanation to Cheng.

I use both gmail and hotmail, gmail is better, but its for home use,to important to me, I use my hotmail account for emails when im at a net cafe etc or a friends place, hotmail is just for that, crap service but easy to use when not at home.
